Invisalign Clear Aligners

People of all ages are choosing to improve the alignment of their smiles. Braces may be fine for the teen and pre-teen set, but if you are an adult who wants to look professional at work or in social settings and who does not want to spend extra time at dental visits or brushing or flossing, our dentist may have the answer for you.

Invisalign® aligners are a great choice for patients who are searching for a more discreet orthodontic treatment option for straightening their smile. Rather than using metal brackets and wires like traditional braces, the Invisalign system uses a series of custom-made, computer-generated plastic aligners to straighten teeth. Each set of aligners is designed to make small changes to the alignment of the teeth. As you switch sets of aligners about every two weeks, your teeth will gradually and gently move to their proper positions. You will also visit our office on a regular basis during treatment to make certain that your smile is progressing as planned.

In general, Invisalign aligners can be used to treat the same orthodontic issues that are normally treated with braces. Our dentist may recommend Invisalign treatment to correct:

  • Crowded teeth

  • Crooked teeth

  • Gapped and spaced teeth

  • Certain problems with the bite, such as an overbite, open bite, underbite or crossbite

During your initial visit, we will determine whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign treatment. This treatment is often a good choice for adult patients and others who are interested in a virtually invisible orthodontic treatment. In addition to being discreet, Invisalign aligners are very comfortable because they are custom made from smooth, thin plastic. The aligners are removable as well, which allows you to easily remove them as needed to eat, brush and floss.

Whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple, effective cosmetic dental treatment that we offer to noticeably enhance your smile in as little as one treatment. Our professional teeth whitening treatments utilize powerful yet safe whitening gel that is applied to the surface of your teeth.  Teeth whitening is available in both in-office and take-home systems. Professional teeth whitening can give you a noticeably whiter smile that will boost your self-esteem and help you smile with pride.   Our professional whitening can remove shallow stains in your enamel and can also whiten the darker/tougher stains in the deeper layer of Dentin.

If you have ever wished that your smile were whiter and brighter, teeth whitening might be right for you. Through professional teeth whitening, we can lighten staining and discoloration caused by various factors, such as:

  • The natural aging process

  • Poor dental hygiene habits

  • Consumption of certain drinks and foods, including tea, wine, coffee and soda

  • Smoking and other forms of tobacco use

  • Illness

  • Certain medications such as Tetracycline

  • Fluorosis

Our dentist will work with you to determine the right type of treatment and treatment length to achieve the smile aesthetic you desire.

Bonding

Dental bonding is a more affordable cosmetic treatment than porcelain veneers, and the procedure can accomplish many of the same goals. Dr. Riter uses composite resin matched to the shade of your natural teeth to make flaws disappear. This simple technique is an easy way to instantly improve the overall appearance of your smile.

Dental bonding can change the size and shape of individual teeth to improve symmetry or correct a chipped tooth. It can also whiten teeth that are too deeply stained to respond to professional teeth whitening. If you are on a budget but would like to have more extensive cosmetic dentistry treatment in the future, then bonding can be an excellent way to keep your smile looking its best in the meantime.

Porcelain Veneers

Little things can matter more than you may think. A tooth that is a little off-color, has a small chip or is the wrong size can change the way you or others see your smile, and sometimes, a little bit of work to fix that little problem can make all the difference.

Dental veneers are very thin shells, typically made of porcelain or resin, that are bonded to the front of your teeth to enhance the beauty of your smile. Our dentist may recommend dental veneers to correct several types of smile imperfections. Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice for enhancing your smile because the color and translucency of porcelain is a great match for the natural appearance of tooth enamel. Porcelain is stain resistant as well, so your smile will stay bright for years to come. Resin veneers can also be matched to your natural tooth color. With dental veneers, you can achieve a beautiful, natural-looking smile that you will love to show off.

Our dentist may recommend dental veneers if you would like to improve the appearance of your smile. Custom-made veneers can be used for just one tooth or for your entire smile. We may suggest veneers to:

  • Close large spaces and gaps between teeth

  • Whiten teeth that are severely stained or discolored

  • Improve the appearance of irregularly shaped teeth

  • Correct slightly crooked teeth

  • Restore teeth that are broken, chipped, worn or fractured

Refine Your Smile with Gum Contouring

Our gums play an important role in determining how attractive our smile appears to others. If you find yourself reluctant to smile because of the shape and prominence of your gums, Dr. Cecil Riter can recontour your gums through a safe and effective cosmetic treatment called gum contouring. The minor surgical procedure improves symmetry and adds beauty to your smile by removing conservative amounts of excess gum tissue.

Gum contouring can reveal a bigger, brighter smile in one appointment.

Benefits of Gum Contouring

Gum contouring delivers dramatic cosmetic results without the need for altering the natural structure of your teeth. Alternative cosmetic treatments, like veneers and dental crowns, require the removal of enamel. Gum contouring is considered a minor surgery that requires a relatively short recovery time. In fact, most patients are able to return to work the day after treatment, and complications are rare.

Smile Makeover

A smile makeover is a personalized, comprehensive treatment plan that can greatly enhance the beauty of your smile. A smile makeover consists of multiple cosmetic and restorative dental treatments that are combined to help you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile. Depending on your personal dental needs and your goals for your smile, your smile makeover may include any of the following treatments:

  • Dental bridges

  • Dental crowns

  • Dental bonding

  • Dental fillings

  • Dental implants

  • Dentures (complete or partial)

Our dentist may recommend a smile makeover if only one treatment will not give you the beautiful results you deserve.
